Wire Bird’s Nest Pendant

By Lorraine

Sweet little DIY wire bird nest charm pendant for Mother's Day.
Sometimes it is the little things that mean the most. Like a little wire bird nest pendant with tiny beads representing eggs. A handmade craft project that is just so sweet!

Wire bird nest pendants make really precious Mother’s Day Gifts

Have you seen these cute wire bird nest charms?  They are pretty easy to make and they make sweet little gifts for Mother’s Day. I followed the video below and made some for those precious Mom’s in my family.

Sweet little DIY wire bird nest charm pendant for Mother's Day.
The nests usually include 3 beads but I was able to create nests with various number reflecting the number of children for that mom.

For this Mother’s Day I used a tiny pearl representing the number of children of each mom:
  • 3 pearls for my mom
  • 1 pearl for my oldest daughter.
  • 4 pearls for another daughter
  • 5 pearls for her twin
  • 4 pearls for me

There are so many ways to customize the tiny nests. Use different color beads to match birthstones, white oval beads as I did, or just a pick a color combination that you like.

Choose different color wire. Wire is available in gold, silver, rose gold, bronze, and black. You’ll be making tons of these for your friends and family in no time!

Wrapping wire bird nest pendant gifts

You could present the necklace pendant in a small gift bag or box.

Or attach it to a handmade card like the ones shown above. I tied each little nest to an image of a mother with her children using ribbon.

Check out The Graphics Fairy for images. She has free images and many more available with and inexpensive monthly or yearly membership.

When you find an image you like print it, trim it and glue to a folded piece of cardstock.
Embellish however you like. I used a paper punch border to fancy-up the paper edge.

The tiny nests are lovely displayed on the card or detached and worn on a chain as a necklace.

I am a new visitor to your blog and I absolutely love it! While I have just skimmed through a few of your delightful posts, I have been able to pick up that you know a thing or two about twins and families with lots of little kiddos running about! I saw your comment on my mom's post regarding my boys (Judy @ Just A Little Something For You) and I clicked on your name…so glad i did!!! We have six children. My oldest is my stepson who is 16 yrs. Then there are five, ages 4, 3, 2 and 1 year old twins. What you wrote on my mom's post, regarding the twins being the 'easiest' completely resonated with me. It is SO true for us too. Often, when I do take children on errands, it's just the twins, and so many people stop and say 'boy, you must have your hands full' (they have NO idea that the two they are looking at are the easiest of the litter!!!). 😉

Again, I am so glad I came across your blog. Already my mouth is watering at Aunt Hazel's coffee cake, and as I've been looking for a good recipe for one of those, I'll be getting out my pen and paper shortly to copy it.

    Warmly,
    Jeane`
