Both unusual occurrences around my neck of the woods.
This was a very heavy snow that was not only accompanied by thunder and lightening but also weighed down all of the evergreens and bushes. The hydrangea bush above, reminds me of coral.
The Eastern Red Bud branches arched to the ground.
I don’t think the branches on my evergreens will ever stand tall again.

Then a delightful surprise…
I noticed a red flash outside the window and was surprised to see a Robin.
Soon more Robins.
They filled the branches of both the Red Bud on the front lawn and a tree at the curbs edge.
So many I lost count.
A special joy to take my mind off my aching arms and wrists.
These pictures are absolutely beautiful! I suppose I should get up too and do an early morning shoveling, would be so worth it after seeing these. Where in NJ are you? Thanks for popping by my little blog world~Sue

What a joyous sight in the middle of deep snow! I had that experience once when we had a foot of snow on the ground. The visitors were cardinals on a pure white backdrop! Thank you for your comment today. It means a lot to me.

Oh my you did get some snow. I don't mind shoveling too much except when it's that heavy stuff. It always reminds me that I'm not as young as I used to be 🙂

I'm so glad God sent you a promise of spring in the middle of a winter storm! We experienced a thunder-snow storm here in Alabama in 1993 when we got a record-stomping 20" snow! People around here still talk about "The Blizzard of '93". So far this year we've only had a couple of inches but that's enough to grind our state to a halt until it thaws. How fun to see the robins. It's too early to see them here but I always look for them as a sign winter is finally letting go. I did see a flock of geese heading south last week and wondered what that means?? lol

It was an amazing snow storm! We had snow, wind, thunder and lightening and boy, the snow sure was heavy!
I have also been seeing some Robins ~ but not the flock that you saw! They are so beautiful against the snow!
