Scherenschnitte
Scherenschnitte, means “scissor cuts” in German. It is the art of paper cutting and design. The artwork often has rotational symmetry within the design. Common forms include silhouettes, valentines, and love letters. The art tradition was founded in Switzerland and Germany in the 16th century and was brought to Colonial America in the 18th century by Dutch immigrants who settled primarily in Pennsylvania.
All that is needed to create beautiful cut images is a cutting mat, X-acto knife and a pattern.

Your Nativity Scherenschnitte is beautiful and the frame is so perfect for it. It lookes like all the glittering stars twinking in honor of His birth!
I just pulled out some paper cuts that I did many years ago. I am trying to figure out how to display them and show them on my blog. One is of the 12 days of Christmas and takes up a lot of space. But you have spurred me on to show them!
