updated foyer

By Lorraine

We have lots going on right now but last night I did a small foyer change.  It was an impromptu change brought about as we are readying the patio for winter. I like the change for now.
I just pulled a few things from nearby places
bringing together the chartreuse green in the flowers and apples

this is how it looks this morning
and i still like it
(it is hard to see, but Raider is lying in a sunbeam under the living room coffee table)
John’s 96 year old Aunt Marie passed away yesterday.  We have been visiting with her in the hospital making the hour drive each way for the past couple of weeks.  Aunt Marie never had children. She has one niece who lives in Indiana, John and his brother.  We will all be making funeral arrangements and working together to liquidate her home.
Our Jamie is scheduled to have her baby tomorrow!
Life can get so full and this is one of those times.

I hope your daughter's delivery goes smoothly be it tmr or sooner or later! 🙂 Im sure you are all waiting with happy anticipation!

What a loving commitment you and your husband have been part of last few weeks with the long drives and busy schedules. I'm sure it meant so much to John's aunt during her last days.

Oh and you're quite an interior designer – your foyer looks like it belongs in a magazine!

Dear Lorraine, you do have a lot going on right now. Sometimes fluffing up your nest can give you a feeling of peace during stressful times. Aunt Marie certainly lived a very long and blessed life. When my Mammaw passed away, my cousin's daughter was born. It's rather bittersweet when that happens. Wishing you and your family all the best, Tammy

I like how the green color coordinates in the apples and the flowers. Sorry to hear about the death and joyful to hear about the birth; the full cycle of life.

Everyone of us in the blogging world would love to just "pull some things from our home", put them together in our foyers, and have them look that good! I like that look and think it is a lovely sight to greet friends and family. It says, "welcome" .

So sorry to hear the news about John's aunt. You both have so much on your plate right now. Praying for you as you go through each day.

The rearrangement looks great. So sorry for your loss, but happy for the new addition. It reminds me of Job 1:21 about how the Lord takes away and He gives (except the verse is just the opposite). No matter what….blessed be the name of the Lord!!! Prayers for you and your family!
