Baby Joelle’s Turn

By Lorraine

Tradition of children and grandchildren wearing their grandfather's vintage Christening outfit. Now is it Baby Joelle's Turn.
This little sweet pea had her turn wearing PopPop John’s christening outfit just like her siblings and cousins. Besides baby Joelle’s turn in this vintage piece, other family members wore it too.

We didn’t plan beginning a family tradition but it has now become one. Sadly, we missed two of the older grandkids and I’m not sure how to include them other than getting a photo of them holding the outfit. Any suggestions?

Here is our youngest daughter, Abbey wearing her daddy’s outfit. Some traditions are planned and others just seem to happen unintentionally.

This precious cotton garment connects the generations in a small yet special way and I am so glad it has survived all these years. I’ve had to iron on a patch but with care, I think a few more children will have their turn in PopPop’s Christening outfit.

Good Morning, What a treasure the gown is and I so enjoyed the photos. I think it would be good to photograph the two grands now holding the gown.

That is an amazing tradition. Wonderful photos. How in the world has the gown stayed so white all these years? From the photos, it looks like it could be brand new.
