Home and Recuperation

By Lorraine

Home and Recuperation… From my resting spot on the sofa, butterflies, hummingbirds and fritillaries have put on a lovely show as I watch through the window.

My hip replacement recovery is going amazingly well. I had terrible nausea and vomiting while in the hospital and sometimes the pain was way more than I expected. Yet, I am amazed I am able to walk upstairs and sleep in my own bed each night. There is no formal at-home therapy. I just follow on-line videos from the doctor and lots of walking is prescribed. There are precautions to prevent dislocating the hip until the muscles heal. The doctor told me he did break the femur because it was narrow at the top and he cut two of the glute muscles. But all will heal with time.

Home and Recuperation

Even on the day of surgery, the therapist got me out of bed and walking. The pics on the left (in collage) were taken just before surgery.  A bit of anxious silliness 🙂

Cheering for team USA in the 2016 Olympics and especially for Kelsi Worrell, a sweet young swimmer from our church with a strong Christian testimony.  We love you Kelsi!!!!

So glad to hear that you are on the road to recovery. I've been praying for you. I'm having an issue with one of my hips – not sure what it is but may be bursitis. Every time it hurts I pray for you!

I didn't know you had a hip replacement. So happy you are doing so well. Yes, I enjoy watching the birds and hummingbirds from my chair in the living room. It is so peaceful.
As always, I enjoy your blog so much and your photographs are great.
I place you in my prayers. Be sure and follow the Dr's orders. Pat

I'm glad you're doing so well. Amazing you can go up and down stairs so often, but I know moving helps. Keep up the good work!

So glad you are doing really well. You look great! A friend at church just had this done about a month ago and he is doing really well too. May you continue to heal nicely and soon be doing all that you'd like to do once again.

How neat to know a young lady who is part of the Olympics. I hope she does well and that God's light will shine right out of her.

Have a lovely Sunday ~ FlowerLady
