It’s Official!

By Lorraine

Welcoming this precious little boy into our family!
Our daughter Jill and husband, Brad are thrilled to finalize the adoption of
Braden Emery
as he officially becomes part of their family

Unable to share anything about Braden (his new name) and his first two years of life, it is with joy I can now post photos.
This little bundle entered the world at just 1-pound 10-ounces and when he finally left the hospital he went right into the hearts and home of Jill and Brad via foster care joining Ryan, Brenna and Shaela.
With their love, care and nurturing he began to grow and grow.
Loved by his PopPop (and smiling happily as he joins his siblings and cousins, the tradition of being photographed in John’s Christening outfit)
such a cutie-pie!

Adoption Day

after the many long and difficult and ofttimes uncertain days…

~ they are family ~
A Thousand Years
Christina Perri

(Verse 1)
Heart beats fast
Colors and promises
How to be brave
How can I love when I’m afraid
To fall
But watching you stand alone
All of my doubt
Suddenly goes away somehow

One step closer

(Chorus)
I have died every day
waiting for you
Darlin’ don’t be afraid
I have loved you for a
Thousand years
I’ll love you for a
Thousand more

(Verse 2)
Time stands still
beauty in all she is
I will be brave
I will not let anything
Take away
What’s standing in front of me
Every breath,
Every hour has come to this

One step closer

(Chorus)
I have died every day
Waiting for you
Darlin’ don’t be afraid
I have loved you for a
Thousand years
I’ll love you for a
Thousand more

And all along I believed
I would find you
Time has brought
Your heart to me
I have loved you for a
Thousand years
I’ll love you for a
Thousand more

One step closer
One step closer

(Chorus)
I have died every day
Waiting for you
Darlin’ don’t be afraid,
I have loved you for a
Thousand years
I’ll love you for a
Thousand more

And all along I believed
I would find you
Time has brought
Your heart to me
I have loved you for a
Thousand years
I’ll love you for a
Thousand more

We made the drive with Jill’s twin sister, Jamie (center photo) and her two youngest children, Chloe and Jethro, leaving Thursday afternoon and returning Sunday night. It was chilly and rainy and by the end of the weekend all of the kids were feverish and feeling poorly. Jamie is making settlement this morning and moving into a new (to them) home while we hope none of us get sick from the house (and car) full of germs!

How wonderful. Opening their hearts and home. Truly blessed. And I can't tell the twins apart, but one is expecting? Is it number 8? Congratulations.

Praise God! this beautiful child was allowed to survive and come into your family.
I know you will provide him with what he needs most in his life…a LOVING FAMILY who will teach him about the Lord, his Heavenly Father who blesses us so much every day.

Congratulations to all of you! I am so happy for you.

I know we all look forward to more pictures of Braden and your family. This is so beautiful! My niece just adopted two brothers from the Foster system – who've finally realized that they will not be moved around from family to family ever again. The 5 year old has several times said "now you are my REAL Mommy and this is really MY OWN FOREVER HOME?" so precious! and they are gorgeous children whose mother just didn't want them anymore!

Thank God there are families like yours who are willing to open your homes and your hearts to these precious little beings. He is a Wonderful Father who blesses us every day.
