Perfect Peace

By Lorraine

You will keep him in Perfect Peace from Isiah 26:3 is a comforting bible verse heading into hip replacement surgery to avoid unnecessary fear and anxiety.Perfect peace… this is a Bible verse I will be holding on to Monday as I head to surge

Perfect Peace

You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you. Isa 26:3 comforting Bible verse for fear and anxiety.I’ll be having a total hip replacement. As I child I had surgery for a dislocated hip. A year or so later, I had a second surgery to remove three pins used to secure the hip. Though I have limited motion in that hip, those surgeries took me through many years of relative normal function.

Slipped capital femoral epiphysis surgical pinsMy normal that is. Putting shoes on, bending down and other activities might not be the way others do it. The doctor told me I have compensated and will be astonished at what a real normal hip feels like. He will also correct my 3/4-inch leg length discrepancy.

So now is the time to move forward with this. Honestly, I do feel a wee bit apprehensive about it all but I have heard only good things from many who have gone through this surgery.

So, my friends, wish me well and say a prayer if you are so inclined!

UPDATE My hip replacement and recovery went very well and I would have to say my hip works perfectly! Here are a few posts journaling the journey.

Even When
Who doesn't, at least occasionally, hit hard spots. Some resolve quickly. Other times we find ourselves in the valley of the shadows. Even When is a beautiful song by Micah Tyler that brings encouragement to fight the good fight. Knowing God is with us through it all and God is with us even then.

Oh, I will sure be praying for you and just know that you are going to be amazed at good you feel afterwards. My husband had total hip replacement 10 years ago and he never had as much pain afterwards as he did before. He's never regretted it. Blessings to you for HIS peace and comfort to surround you in the days ahead. Hugs!

This is one I particularly like – and repeat several times daily: "The Lord is my Portion; therefore I shall wait for Him."
God be with you tomorrow and throughout your recovery period – and always!
The Peace of the Lord be with you…………..

You will have a peaceful Monday, and you will be home before you know it! Do you know what time surgery is scheduled?

May you have perfect peace on Monday, as your mind is stayed on Him.
I have found it is very calming to repeat scripture, in times like this.
Praying for your surgery and recovery.

I understand your apprehension…I am having so much difficulty with my back and thinking of surgery brings up that feeling for me. 🙂 I know you're going to sail through this! A dear friend of mine had surgery on both hips (not at the same time) and she absolutely amazed everyone!

I will pray for you and the medical team for their skills. Try to relax and enjoy your "down time"…read, watch movies, etc. May God and His angels surround you with peace and love!

I am both excited and happy for you that you are able to get this surgery done and have renewed and even better mobility! I pray that the Lord might guide the surgeons hands, and that all would good well. I pray that the recovery is swift, complete, and quick. And I'd ask too Lord that you would fill her with your perfect peacce, and keep His loving arms around you through the whole process.

Yes, I will pray for you – for steady hands for the surgeon, for a smooth operation and rapid healing. All of the things that the surgeon says are true, as I have watched a dear friend (with whom I walk and swim!) go through two replacements. The most recent was last September.
