Lane Hope Chest

By Lorraine

Do you remember these sweet little hope chests? The high schools in our area gave one to each senior girl upon graduation. I received a Lane hope chest as did my older girls ~ Abbey graduates this year and we’ll see if the tradition continues.

    My mom has one. She keeps a really old doll in hers. I always wanted one, but never got one. You should see my senior high school photo from 1976. Then again, maybe not.

    Wow, what a lovely gift for your graduation. You look so serious in your graduation photo and that hairstyle must have taken an age to blow dry! Thanks for sharing.

    I have one of these! My mom gave it to me, it came with her real hope chest when she got it right out of high school.

    Oh yes! I remember those. I had one – got it in the 60's. I don't remember what happened to it – I know I had it for many years later. You have not changed.

    I do remember those little ceder chests! I always wanted one of the big hope chests, but they were way more than anyone I knew would pay! They used to give the little ones out when I was in high school (yes!the groovey '70's)but my girls never received one when they graduated.
    By the way ~ you haven't changed at all! ;~}
    Thanks for the memories!
