Our middle two have a birthday today.
Can’t you just see the cute, playful, mischievousness, loving and thoughtful spirit of these two.
Always.
My heart overflows
I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.

Dead Sea Scrolls at The Franklin Institute

By Lorraine

We recently spent the day at The Franklin Institute in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. We picked a beautiful Monday just after the kids went back to school to avoid crowds. The main attraction was The Dead Sea Scrolls exhibition created by the Israel Antiquities Authority from the collection of the Israel National Treasures. Photos of the scrolls were prohibited and the above section was shown on a large screen.Continue Reading

God writes the Gospel not in the Bible alone, but also on trees, and in the flowers and clouds and stars.

Think on These Things ~ Reflection

By Lorraine

Reflection. Summer sunset on Lake Garrison, Monroeville, NJ. For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. 1 Corinthians 13:12

Think on These Things ~ Faith

By Lorraine

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you
1 Peter 5:7

Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous fall
Psalm 55:22
I saw this acrostic for FAITH on my friend, Deb’s blog, Jeremiah 29:11, and love the simple reminder that God never intends for us to be weighed down by concerns.

1 Peter 5:7 is one of John’s favorite Bible verses.  He is better at forwarding than I and he sometimes reminds me to put on the shield of faith.

Think on These Things ~ White

White As Snow lyrics Leon Olguin / Kelly Willard

“Come now, let us reason together,”

says the Lord.
“Though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be as white as snow;
though they are red as crimson,
they shall be like wool.
Isaiah 1:18

Think on These Things #22 Wishing

By Lorraine

Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.
Luke 18:1

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
Philippians 4:6

Think on These Things #21 ~ Striving Together

By Lorraine

Only conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or remain absent, I will hear of you that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel
Philippians 1:27
I have been blessed to become friends with this sweetest family!
Photo from Nika’s Blog Crafts for Christ’s Glory
Nika and Zhenya and their three precious children live in a distant and unfamiliar land to me yet I count it a joy to read about their love for the Lord and their work through Nika’s blog
Craft for Christs Glory.
I received a surprise package from Nika containing a delicious chocolate bar, a lovely card and this handsome trivet with a scene from her beautiful Russia. What a treasure!
Best of all, it will remind me of their work and to lift this dear family up in prayer as they serve the Lord.

Nesting

By Lorraine

I watched as a pair of sparrows flitted about this lantern on the patio and wasn't surprised when I saw a couple of days later they had built a nest atop the candle in the holder.  I think she found a perfect nesting home for her young.

Think on These Things #18 ~ Fathers

By Lorraine

Thank you , Dear LORD, for the fathers in our family. Strengthen those still with us, guide them and give them Your wisdom as they seek to raise the children You gave them, in a manner that reflects Your kindness, patience and love. The task is great, LORD. The influence of the world is unrelenting. Draw them ever closer to You and be their constant help.
Nineteen children are represented by the men in this photo.Continue Reading
