What Time Will then Remain

By Lorraine

How easy it is to focus on the hard and difficult things that face us each day and fall into a pattern of complaining even if it is just in our own thoughts. The little annoyances, the circumstances we have no control over and situations that seem overwhelming can cause us to forget the many blessings we enjoy.

I think this is why I resonate with these words by RC Trench.

When thou hast thanked thy God
For every blessing sent,
What time will then remain
For murmurs or lament?
R C Trench

faith looks up

By Lorraine

 So faith looks up and sails on, by God’s great Sun, not seeing one shoreline or earthly lighthouse or path upon the way. Often our steps seem to lead into utter uncertainty or even darkness and disaster. But He opens the way, making our midnight hours the very gates of day.
Let us go forth this day, not knowing, yet trusting.
AB Simpson Days of Heaven on Earth Devotional

King Of The World
Natalie Grant
source

Lyrics
I tried to fit you in the walls inside my mind
I try to keep you safely in between the lines
I try to put you in the box that I’ve designed
I try to pull you down so we are eye to eye

When did I forget that you’ve always been the king of the world?
I try to take life back right out of the hands of the king of the world
How could I make you so small
When you’re the one who holds it all
When did I forget that you’ve always been the king of the world

Just a whisper of your voice can tame the seas
So who am I to try to take the lead
Still I run ahead and think I’m strong enough
When you’re the one who made me from the dust

When did I forget that you’ve always been the king of the world?
I try to take life back right out of the hands of the king of the world
How could I make you so small
When you’re the one who holds it all
When did I forget that you’ve always been the king of the world

Oh, you set it all in motion
Every single moment
You brought it all to me
And you’re holding on to me

When did I forget that you’ve always been the king of the world?
I try to take life back right out of the hands of the king of the world
How could I make you so small
When you’re the one who holds it all
When did I forget you’ve always been the king of the world
You will always be the king of the world

Moment by Moment

By Lorraine

 I find it easy to fall into worry and fear so when I came across this beautiful hymn by D. W. Whittle, it spoke to my heart. Every line reminds me of God’s great love and care in every situation toward every believer.
Read all of the words to this beautiful hymn below.

source:
It was during the great World’s Fair evangelistic campaign. Mr. Moody and his workers were gathered at the close of the day, as their custom was, in the famous evangelist’s room, for a word of prayer together. The hymn, “I need Thee every hour,” had been announced. When the singing of it ceased, Mr. Henry Varley, the English evangelist, said: I’m not sure that I can subscribe heartily to that sentiment. I feel that I need Christ moment by moment. The thought impressed Major D. W. Whittle, and at the close of the prayer season he went to his room, and, prompted by the Holy Spirit, he wrote and rewrote and wrote again, and at 2 o’clock in the morning the new song was in complete form.
Moment by Moment
D. W. Whittle

Dying with Jesus, by death reckoned mine,
Living with Jesus a new life divine,
Looking to Jesus ’til glory doth shine,-
Moment by moment, O Lord, I am Thine.

Moment by moment I’m kept in His love,
Moment by moment I’ve life from above;
Looking to Jesus ’till glory doth shine.
Moment by moment, O Lord, I am Thine.

Never a trial that He is not there,
Never a burden that He doth not bear,
Never a sorrow that He doth not share,-
Moment by moment, I’m under His care.

Never a heartache and never a groan,
Never a teardrop and never a moan;
Never a danger, but there on the throne,
Moment by moment, He thinks of His own.

Never a weakness that He doth not feel,
Never a sickness that He cannot heal;
Moment by moment, in woe or in weal,
Jesus, my Savior, abides with me still.

In Christ Alone My Hope is Found

By Lorraine

We sang this song again in church last week and it remains one of my favorite. There is a lot of truth packed into these lyrics. Hope you’ll read them and be encouraged!
For I am His and He is mine—
Bought with the precious of Christ.

In Christ Alone
Keith And Kristyn Getty
In Christ alone my hope is found;
He is my light, my strength, my song;
This cornerstone, this solid ground,
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm.
What heights of love, what depths of peace,
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease!
My comforter, my all in all—
Here in the love of Christ I stand.
In Christ alone, Who took on flesh,
Fullness of God in helpless !
This gift of love and righteousness,
Scorned by the ones He came to save.
Till on that cross as Jesus died,
The wrath of God was satisfied;
For ev’ry sin on Him was laid—
Here in the of Christ I live.
There in the ground His body lay,
Light of the world by darkness slain;
Then bursting forth in glorious day,
Up from the grave He rose again!
And as He stands in victory,
Sin’s curse has lost its grip on me;
For I am His and He is mine—
Bought with the precious blood of Christ.
No guilt in life, no fear in —
This is the pow’r of Christ in me;
From life’s first cry to final breath,
Jesus commands my destiny.
No pow’r of hell, no scheme of man,
Can ever pluck me from His hand;
Till He returns or calls me home—
Here in the pow’r of Christ I’ll stand.

I Will Instruct You and Teach You

By Lorraine

I find great encouragement in this psalm. How I depend on His instruction, teaching and counsel each day. And all with His loving eye on me. That’s pretty amazing.

I Wait for the Lord

By Lorraine

“Father, teach us all how to wait.”
― Andrew Murray, Waiting on God

Even So Come

All of creation
All of the earth
Make straight a highway
A path for the Lord
Jesus is coming soon
Call back the sinner
Wake up the saint
Let every nation
Shout of Your fame
Jesus is coming soon
Like a bride
Waiting for her groom
We’ll be a church
Ready for You
Every heart longing for our King
We sing

Even so come
Lord Jesus come
Even so come
Lord Jesus come

There will be justice
All will be new
Your name forever
Faithful and true
Jesus is coming soon
Like a bride
Waiting for her groom
We’ll be a church
Ready for You
Every heart longing for our King
We sing

Even so come
Lord Jesus come
Even so come
Lord Jesus come

So we wait
We wait for You
God we wait
You’re coming soon
So we wait
We wait for You
God we wait
You’re coming soon

Like a bride
Waiting for her groom
We’ll be a church
Ready for You
Every heart longing for our King
We sing
Like a bride
Waiting for her groom
We’ll be a church
Ready for You
Every heart longing for our King
We sing

Even so come
Lord Jesus come
Even so come
Lord Jesus come
Even so come
Lord Jesus come
Even so come
Lord Jesus come

Sunday thoughts

By Lorraine

For God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and a sound mind.
2 Timothy 1:7

{smile} just after I finished preparing this Scripture photo I opened my social media app and read a quote by Charles Spurgeon:

 The fear of God is the death of every other fear; like a mighty lion, it chases all other fears before it.

Seems like God wants me to get this truth 🙂

Great is Thy Faithfulness

By Lorraine

“Great Is Thy Faithfulness”
 Thomas Chisholm (1866–1960) with music composed by William M. Runyan (1870–1957)

Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father;
There is no shadow of turning with Thee;
Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not;
As Thou hast been, Thou forever will be.
Great is Thy faithfulness!
Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see.
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided;
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!
Summer and winter and springtime and harvest,
Sun, moon and stars in their courses above
Join with all nature in manifold witness
To Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love.
Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth
Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide;
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow,
Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!
