By Lorraine

5 Years old

 and a passion for hockey!

Before tossing an old table-top hockey game, I pulled off the figures.
Perfect for cake toppers!

We ALL played Pin-the-tail-on-the Donkey before

Keri’s sweetly watching her brother

Silas’s expression when he saw his face as a Stanley Cup Champ

Grandchildren and Children

By Lorraine

We had a great week with kids.
Jill and family are heading back to Central New York tomorrow.
How we enjoyed every minute they were here!
John and Brad worked really hard doing some
landscaping in the front yard on Wednesday.
After a long day and warm (80 degree) temps, Jamie and kids
joined us for Pizza and Cheesesteaks for dinner and
ice-cream cones for dessert.
It was a perfect evening to eat outside and play ball!

Baby Cambrie toddled about.
John took a second vacation day today and we headed to Philly
 to see the Liberty Bell
 and the Betsy Ross House
This evening, the little ones were left with a babysitter and we all met at Outback Steak House for a late dinner.  It was so much fun!
It was hard getting pictures in the subdued light, but everyone was together
and
my heart was very happy!

A Sleep-over

By Lorraine

Keri hadn’t spent the night for a while so we asked if she would like to come Sunday evening.
Much to everyone’s surprise, Caleb said in his sweet little voice…

“I go to Mom-Mom and Pop-Pop’s too?”

Church Christmas Living Nativity “I Know That Wiseman!”

By Lorraine

Our church began a outdoor Living Nativity many years ago on a small scale back in the early 1990’s. Over the years it has grown considerably and now, weather permitting, runs three weekends (7 nights) and has had as many as 14,000 visitors come through in one year. There are 13 scenes beginning with Creation and ending with Jesus ascending into the clouds with a promise to return.

Our family has greatly enjoyed helping in many capacities from baking cookies (up to 50,000 are served each year), including running a projector, being a guide, a greeter, a “mingler”, helping to set-up/take-down, helping in costumes and being a cast member.

For many years my husband was a wiseman. In this scene, the three Magi enter from the right to inquire of Herod “where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star in the east and have come to worship him”.
After leaving Herod, the wisemen circle around the back of the scene and re-enter on the left where they knock on the door of a carpenter and his wife. The curtain is drawn aside and the toddler Jesus emerges with his mother, Mary.

Thanksgiving Day Memories with Breakfast and Dinner

By Lorraine

This beautiful buffet was prepared by our dear son-in-law, Josh. He’s not only a whiz behind a computer but also behind a grill pan. This yummy pumpkin pancake breakfast is becoming his trademark and much enjoyed as we watched on TV, the balloon floats and marching bands in the Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade.Lots of snugglin’ with grandbabies! Also spent a little time looking at the tiny baby girl ensemble that awaits a new arrival due in just a couple of weeks.Continue Reading

The Blessings of Adult Children

By Lorraine

The Blessings of Adult Children. I loved and immensely enjoyed every day with our children when they were little . When I see old photographs of them I passionately want to scoop them out of the picture and squeeze them to pieces. I miss their giggles. I miss braiding their hair. I miss the chatter around the dinner table and so many more things about their childhood. Continue Reading

Finished Crocheted Neck Warmer & Wishing to be Finished

By Lorraine

I have finished the capelet that I began a couple of weeks ago and my precious daughter, Jamie was so kind to model it for me.
~*~
This young lady is as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside.
And she really wishes she was finished too…
her pregnancy, that is.
