By Lorraine

DIY wooden wall jewelry shelf organizer has plenty of hooks to keep necklaces and bracelets from tangling and within easy reach.Necklaces and accessories are fun to wear and can really dress up an otherwise plain or casual outfit. But how to keep those pieces organized and easy to reach? This jewelry organizer works for me.

Hanging necklaces and bracelets from hooks and cabinet door knobs doesn’t work very well, as I used to do. And I haven’t found a jewelry box that holds many either.

Wall-mounted jewelry organizer

Out of necessity, I made this wall-mounted jewelry organizer that keeps many pieces right where I need them. It has been so helpful to me that my daughters have requested I make one for each them.

Keep you necklaces, bracelets and rings organizer and tangle free with and easy DIY craft project. A wall shelf with plenty of hooks to keep jewelry neat and within easy reach.
Simple in design and using a few pieces of wood from you local home building supply store is what is needed for this project. You might even have scrap pieces of wood, as we did, from a past project. This wooden shelf  is a great solution.

The two-tier wooden shelf is a great solution as it provides lots of hooks to chorale all your necklaces and bracelets in one place. Hang it in your closet or in dressing area. Mine is on the wall in our dressing area.

Painting the jewelry organizer

Since the shelf is attractive, there is no need to hide it in a closet. Paint to match the room trim or pick a favorite color like this aqua version.

How to make a wall-mounted jewelry organizer

We had a few pieces of leftover wood trim in the garage. We cut the pieces to 40-inch lengths and nailed them together. To determine the length of shelf you want to make, consider your space and number of jewelry pieces you have.

This simple design provides two levels to hang many necklaces in a small space and still keep them separated.

When the wood pieces are attached, sand smooth and apply a coat of primer. Paint in desired color and it is ready to add hooks.

I found large white upholstery tacks and using a magnetic tack hammer, nailed them about an inch apart across most of the shelf and a little further apart at the opposite end to accommodate wider bracelets.

My board used exactly 100 tacks (4 boxes of 25) but you can decide the spacing and number of tacks for your project.

Perfect solution for tangled necklaces and bracelets. Easy DIY wooden wall shelf has lots of hooks to keep jewelry neat and within easy reach. The top ledge of the shelf gives additional space for small perfume bottles, rings, earrings or decorative accents. It is wide enough to stand these plates on.

I intended to hang my shelf on a wall in my walk-in closet but thought it pretty enough to display in my dressing area with my necklaces right at my fingertips.

Were you reading my mind, my friend? I was just looking at ideas for organizing and storing jewelry. I'm so tired of tangled necklaces and things hidden away where I forget to look for them. This is a cute idea. I may have to 'borrow' the idea for my tiny, little closet. You are always an inspiration to me.
