Here is an easy recipe for baked chicken paprika. The spice blend isn’t hot but it does add a lot of flavor. It got thumbs up from both my husband and daughter even though we usually prefer white meat.

Parmesan Chicken Cutlets and a childhood memory. When I was a little girl, we moved from the city of Philadelphia to an archetypal, all-American, small south Jersey town. Just a block up the road was a group of stores that included a pharmacy with a great collection of greeting cards and a chest freezer filled with frozen treats. When my cousins visited, we were allowed to walk to the pharmacy and buy whatever we wanted. I can remember sitting on the front steps of our home eating Creamsicles, Fudgesicles or drumstick ice-cream cones very slowly because we didn’t want to be the first one finished.

So many activities and happenings there is barely time to think sometimes. I tried to keep snapping pics as days went by but had little time to even take a look at them. This is some of the highlights of our past couple months.

The First Rose Of Summer
It excites me to see the very first rose buds appear each spring knowing they will soon bust forth into beautiful blossoms with sweet fragrance. This is a hybrid tea rose called Broadway with shades of pink, yellow and peach. It has been in our garden since 2012.

Baltimore Oriole Surprise Visit to the Hummingbird Feeder
Oh, was I excited! I peeked out the window and was I surprised to see a bird on the hummingbird feeder. A brilliant colored bird that I had never seen in real life before. I knew from its plumage it was a Baltimore Oriole. The vivid orange and black bird was stunning. Although they are common in eastern North America’s open woods and backyards during the summer, this migratory bird was a newcomer to my yard.

Most of Saturday was spent outside doing yard clean-up. The weather was perfect! John and I got much accomplished but still have lots to do.We have two Eastern Redbud trees in the front yard in bloom.
Our helper overseeing our progress, who barked whenever we moved out of his sight! He was happy as long as he could see one of us 🙂
